MDF plates are often used in furniture, model and kitchen construction. An MDF plate consists of wood fibers that are formed into a mat for pressing. This mat is then pressed into a plate. When a traditional screw is screwed in on the end, there is a good chance that the MDF plate will split and the plate will become unusable.
